Automation and Spring Making

Automation and spring making is getting to be a necessity in many places of the world. To keep the cost down and win those very high volume jobs it is necessary to either automate or use very cheap labor. Here we will share video of how many manufacturers developed sophisticated processes to automate their production. Some are quite simple and some very elaborate and very expensive. In all cases I think you will find them interesting to watch.

This first set of video shows radial formers making:

• windshield wiper extension springs
• large hose clamp
• a long wire form wound after cut
• spring clip

This next set of video show compression spring coilers with

• transfer systems, automated heat treat, press, and load check
• two coilers feeding an automatic orientation system
• garter spring coiler with coiling automatically feeding into a spring end joiner.
