Spring and Wire Former Videos
Here's our "greatest hits" of spring and wire former setups. We have these videos arranged starting with the 2 axis or more cam type machines showing a whole variety of unique setups. Some of these videos are quite old when the only machines available were two axis. The setups would most likely be done differently today. We want you to see the ingenuity that was used to accomplish the task with what they had.
Got a great setup that you did? Got some pictures, or better yet some video? Keep reading on. We'll tell you how to get it to us later.
This set of video shows the cammed radial formers making:
- brake springs
- wire form with loop and wire wrapped several times over itself
- hose clamp
- power spring from flat stock
- torsion spring formed inside itself
- compression spring with leg down center I.D.
Next, we show
Camless Radial Formers. I've included some similar setups shown in the cam type radial formers, but notice the difference in how they were done. Also, notice the difference in speeds. The new technology has definitely enabled increased speeds with increased accuracy.
Here we show:
- extension spring being made without secondary hook station
- torsion spring with formed legs made in one shot
- hose clamp
- extraordinary double torsion
- torsion spring with inner and outer coils in opposite hands
- flat stock power spring with final bend made after cut off
